Silver Mayne Plant and Baked Goods Sale - Sat May 12

The Silver Maynes will hold its annual Mothers' Day Plant and Baked Goods Sale and Tea, at the Ag Hall and fairgrounds, Miners Bay, on Saturday, May 12.

Tea will be served in the Ag Hall from 1 p.m. There will be a raffle for hanging baskets and other prizes. Raffle tickets are for sale at the Mayne Mall or the Trading Post on the Saturdays preceding Mothers' Day or from Mayne Cuts, 457 Village Bay Road.

Donations from Mayne Islanders of plants or baked goods for sale will be happily received.

MILT presents The Clean House - May 4&5, 11&12

Mayne Island Little Theatre presents The Clean House.

Local thespians Aubrie Karagianis, Glenda Goodman, Karen Noyes, Jessica Easton and Glen Wilson  take to the stage in The Clean House - a prize-winning play written by Sarah Ruhl. Directed by Carol Munro, this comic drama mixes fantasy and reality; sadness and laughter as it tells the story of five disparate characters trying to come to grips with the mess of their lives.

Edible Spring: Native Plant Walk and Workshop - Sat Apr 28

Back by popular demand, Jenna Rudolph will lead another informative workshop for the Mayne Island Conservancy.

Join us for an instructive walk followed by a wild, harvested salad and learn how to make a medicinal vinegar. We will learn the edible, medicinal and traditional uses of the plants, techniques for identification and how to recognize different families. What plant can you use if you get stung by a bee? What is our local source of Vitamin C? What local plant makes the strongest fiber?

The Deadlights coming to Mayne - Sat Apr 28

Mayne Island Music Society presents Wyckham Porteous with The Deadlights.

According to Wyckham, music fans on Mayne can expect a strong diet of blues infected rock with a little dash of Fleetwood Mac and Jack White. “Oh and we wouldn’t mind a bit of dancing” adds Wyckham.
