BC Ferries Survey Deadline: Mon Dec 14

There is still time to make your thoughts known regarding the proposed new ferry schedules for Routes 9 (Tsawwassen/Gulf Islands and 5 (Swartz Bay/Gulf Islands). The new schedules and survey are available at the BC Ferries web site until Monday December 14th.

The revised schedules more closely resemble the current schedules than what was presented last August.

But two areas of concern are immediately apparent for the winter Tsawwassen to Village Bay route: the potential for an overload situation on Friday nights to the Gulf Islands and Sunday nights returning with a new 145 vehicle capacity ferry replacing the Queen of Nanaimo (192 vehicle capacity).

If you haven’t already done so, please have a look at the schedules and complete the survey.

Additional comments about the schedule (that are not covered by the survey) can be sent to sgischeduling@bcferries.com with copies to Mark Collins, Vice President at mark.collins@bcferries.com and the Mayne Island Ferry Advisory Committee members Diana King (diana@dianaking.ca), David Maude (davemaude@hotmail.com) and Mike Sywulych (p.sywulych@shaw.ca).

For further information please contact Diana King diana@dianaking.ca.
